Srinagar, April 4: J&K Peoples Conference President and MLA Handwara Sajad Lone has pledged his unequivocal backing for Waqf legislation in the assembly while delivering a scathing critique of the National Conference’s parliamentary representation.

“We will support unconditionally any bill brought in the J and K assembly pertaining to Waqf. If NC has any such intentions we will support it,” Lone declared.

He also questioned NC saying, “BUT can they answer one simple question? Why on earth was their delivery in Parliament so lacklustre and so apologetically servile.”

Highlighting the unique position of the region, Lone emphasized, “J&K is the only Muslim majority province in India. The parliamentarians from J&K should have roared like a lion not meowed like a cat.”
