Advisor to CM Nasir Aslam Wani Meets Delegations, Promises Action on Genuine Public Concerns
Srinagar | April 7, 2025:
In line with the Jammu and Kashmir government’s ongoing public outreach and grievance redressal initiative, Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani today held a series of meetings with public delegations and individuals at the Chief Minister’s Public Service and Outreach Office, Gupkar, Srinagar.
Among the key delegations was the J&K Government Employees Joint Consultative Committee (JKEJCC), led by Chairman Aijaz Ahmad Khan, who raised a range of employee welfare concerns and departmental issues. Advisor Wani assured the delegation of a phased and systematic resolution, acknowledging the dedication of the region’s government workforce.
“The current administration is well aware of the issues faced by employees and is committed to addressing them based on their merit,” the Advisor stated.
Another significant delegation—J&K Higher Education Contractual Teachers Association—also met the Advisor. They submitted a memorandum seeking parity in engagement terms similar to those offered under SRO 364 in the Health and Medical Education Department.
In response, Advisor Wani said:
“The Omar Abdullah-led government is determined to understand and ease the difficulties of our contractual workforce. These demands will be examined thoroughly and resolved at the earliest possible time.
In addition to organized delegations, numerous individuals from across the Valley visited the outreach office, raising issues such as pending compensation under SRO 43, delayed payments through SICOP, and requests for improved basic infrastructure and public services in their respective areas.
The Advisor gave a patient hearing and reiterated the government’s focus on citizen-centric governance. He assured that a robust grievance redressal mechanism is already in place—both offline and online—to streamline public communication with government departments.
“We’re here to listen, act, and ensure that no genuine concern goes unheard,” Advisor Wani emphasized.
The Chief Minister’s Public Service and Outreach Office has emerged as a hub for public interaction, being frequented daily by dozens of delegations and citizens looking for government attention and solutions.
