BANDIPORA | April 08, 2025:
In a bid to ensure universal Aadhaar coverage, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, on Tuesday chaired the District Level Aadhaar Monitoring Committee meeting at the Mini Secretariat, Bandipora.
The meeting held in-depth discussions on several key issues, including Aadhaar saturation across all age groups, the status of operational enrollment centers, biometric updates, and birth registration-based Aadhaar enrollment.
A detailed presentation was delivered by the Project Manager of UIDAI, highlighting the current Aadhaar saturation levels in the district, and identifying challenges and actionable steps to enroll the remaining population.
It was revealed that 64 Aadhaar Enrollment Centers are presently operational across Bandipora.
Schools and Children Enrollment Prioritized
To accelerate the enrollment process, DC Qadri instructed the concerned departments to draft a calendar specifically for Aadhaar updation drives in schools, focusing on school-going children. He also issued directions to immediately operationalize all non-functional Aadhaar centers to maximize outreach.
Inter-departmental Coordination and Awareness Drives
DC Qadri urged the Education Department, ICDS, and the Health Department to take a lead role in facilitating Aadhaar enrollment and achieving 100% saturation. He emphasized the importance of conducting awareness camps to educate the public about Aadhaar enrollment procedures.
