
Congress delegation meets nomad families, demands justice, compensation to them.
Srinagar, April 13, 2024:
Acting on the directions of J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Tariq Hameed Karra, a delegation of senior Congress leaders and district presidents visited the bereaved nomad families in Qazigund, Kulgam district, to express solidarity and condolences.
The delegation, led by senior Congress leader Abdul Gani Khan, included Dr. Waleed Karra, DCC Presidents of Kulgam and Anantnag Abdul Rashid Lone, Zaffar Farooq Salati, and others. They met with the nomadic families who recently lost their loved ones under unclear and disturbing circumstances.
During their interaction, the leaders conveyed deep concern over the tragic deaths, terming the incident as deeply shocking and unfortunate. They stated that such events foster a climate of fear and insecurity among the people, which is unacceptable and must be addressed urgently.
The delegation called for a time-bound investigation to determine the exact cause of the deaths and urged the authorities to clarify whether these were unnatural deaths or deliberate acts. They stressed that justice must be delivered swiftly and transparently.
Further, the Congress leaders demanded that the district administration immediately extend financial assistance to the widows and families of the deceased and ensure their rehabilitation and protection.
The delegation also extended condolences on behalf of JKPCC President Tariq Hameed Karra, reassuring the families that the Congress Party stands firmly with them and will exhaust all efforts to secure justice.
