DC Ganderbal Conducts Public Outreach at Safapora, Assures Time-Bound Grievance Redressal

GANDERBAL, May 14 (RNA):
In a bid to foster grassroots engagement and assess local development, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, chaired a comprehensive public outreach programme at the Manasbal Development Authority’s conference hall, focusing on the needs and aspirations of residents from Block Safapora.

The event witnessed active participation from senior citizens, youth, public representatives, and officers from various departments, including DDC Member Safapora, ADDC, ASP, ACD, ACP, and ACR.

Key Public Demands Raised

During the interaction, residents voiced a range of developmental and civic concerns, including:

  • Beautification of Manasbal Lake

  • Deployment of staff at Higher Secondary School Safapora

  • Livestock vaccination camps

  • Establishment of an additional receiving station at Kohistan Colony

  • 24×7 electricity in metered areas

  • Replacement of old water pipes

  • Widening of Safapora to Beehama Road

  • Desilting and repair of Lar Canal

  • Proper waste management and legacy waste removal

Locals also appreciated the ongoing developmental efforts already visible in the area.

DC Ganderbal Promises Swift Action

Addressing the gathering, DC Jatin Kishore assured that genuine issues will be prioritized, and directed the concerned departments to examine feasibility and implement solutions in a time-bound manner.
He emphasized the need for sustainable irrigation, instructing the I&FC Department to begin desilting works and take up urgent repairs on the Lar Canal.

In response to sanitation concerns, the BDO Safapora was asked to initiate door-to-door waste collection and removal of roadside waste to improve public hygiene and aesthetics.

Manasbal Tourism and Youth Empowerment Stressed

Highlighting the tourism potential of the region, the DC reaffirmed the administration’s resolve to develop Manasbal Lake as a top tourist destination, calling for community involvement in preserving its ecological integrity.

He also encouraged the youth to explore entrepreneurship opportunities under schemes like HADP, urging them to collaborate with Agriculture and allied departments for sustainable livelihood options.
