DC reviews progress of road projects in Panchari-Moungri area: Directs officers to expedite work, achieve targets within timelines

UDHAMPUR, MAY 14: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Saloni Rai today chaired a meeting of officers to review the execution of different road projects in Panchari-Moungri and the status of vacant government quarters in the district.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh; Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Iqbal and other concerned officers.

While reviewing the progress of road works in the Panchari and Moungri areas, the DC directed the concerned officers to strictly adhere to the prescribed specifications and ensure the timely completion of all ongoing projects.

The DC further directed the concerned to accelerate the pace of work and ensure that all targets are achieved within the stipulated time frame.

Expressing concern over the delay in some projects, the DC instructed the officers to serve show-cause notices to the contractors responsible for the delays. Taking a serious view of the slow progress and abandonment of work by certain contractors, she also called for initiating action to blacklist such defaulting contractors.

While reviewing the status of vacant government quarters in the district, the DC directed the ADC to constitute a committee to inquire into the matter and submit a detailed report within week’s time.
