BARAMULLA, MAY 15 (RNA):
In a major step towards empowering tribal populations, a Mega Information, Education and Communication (IEC) campaign will be launched in Baramulla district under the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) from June 15 to June 30, 2025.

This flagship initiative of the Government of India aims to ensure 100% saturation of 25 centrally sponsored welfare schemes, covering sectors like health, education, housing, livelihoods, skill development, and social protection across designated tribal villages.

Speaking on the initiative, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, called on the public—especially members of tribal communities—to actively participate and utilize the full range of benefits under the campaign.

He highlighted that the campaign will prioritize doorstep governance, featuring a series of intensive awareness programs, field activities, and on-the-spot delivery of government services in far-flung tribal belts of the district.

“The campaign’s primary objective is to ensure no eligible beneficiary is left behind. It’s an opportunity for tribal households to directly access services and entitlements they deserve,” the DC said.

To facilitate this, the district administration has put in place a comprehensive implementation plan, coordinating with line departments, local functionaries, and community representatives to ensure seamless execution of the campaign.

The campaign is expected to significantly boost the inclusion and development of tribal communities by bridging gaps in public service access, promoting welfare entitlements, and enhancing awareness at the grassroots level.
