Govt retains Yasha Mudghal in J&K. Cancels it’s earlier transfer order
New Delhi, May 16, 2025: In a partial modification of MHA’s earlier order dated October 17, 2024, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has announced the cancellation of the transfers for two IAS officers. According to the latest order issued today, the transfer orders for Shri Saugat Biswas, IAS (AGMUT: 2006), who was previously slated to move from Arunachal Pradesh to Jammu & Kashmir, and Ms. Yasha Mudgal, IAS (AGMUT: 2007), who was to be transferred from Jammu & Kashmir to Puducherry, have been cancelled.
The MHA order, issued with the approval of the Competent Authority, states that the remaining contents of the order dated October 17, 2024, shall remain unchanged. The reason for the partial modification was not specified in the order.
This development comes amidst a larger bureaucratic reshuffle announced by the MHA today, involving the transfer and posting of numerous IAS and IPS officers across various states and union territories.
