
J&K BJP Leaders Visit Uri, Extend Relief to Cross-Border Shelling Victims
Uri, May 17, 2025:
A high-level delegation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today visited Uri to express solidarity with families affected by cross-border shelling and to oversee relief efforts in the region.

During the visit, the leaders interacted with the affected families and distributed relief materials, including essential supplies and financial assistance, to those severely impacted by the recent shelling incidents.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Koul reiterated the party’s commitment to standing with the border residents during times of crisis and assured that appropriate rehabilitation and long-term safety measures would be taken up with the Union Government.
Dr. Darakshan Andrabi emphasized the need for urgent and sustainable solutions to ensure the well-being of the border population.
“These residents are living under constant threat. Our collective efforts must ensure peace, relief, and a better standard of living for them,” she said.
The visit was part of the BJP’s larger outreach initiative in border districts aimed at assessing ground realities, addressing public grievances, and strengthening disaster response mechanisms.
