
Exciting Inter-School Zonal Competitions Ignite Sports Spirit Across Kishtwar District
KISHTWAR, MAY 17, 2025:
In a spirited celebration of youth and sportsmanship, the Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Kishtwar, successfully conducted a series of Inter-School Zonal Level Competitions across multiple educational zones, aiming to promote fitness, unity, and athletic excellence among students.
Held under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Kumar Shavan and the supervision of District Youth Services & Sports Officer (DYSSO) Jaffer Haider Sheikh, the events witnessed enthusiastic participation from hundreds of young athletes across the district.
Zone Kishtwar: Grand Multi-Sport Event
Zone Kishtwar hosted a mega sports extravaganza across venues including Chowgan Ground, ITI Ground, and GHSS Boys. Over 200 students participated in various sporting events such as Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Tug of War, Badminton, Chess, Carrom, Yoga, and Rope Skipping, creating a vibrant atmosphere brimming with energy and competitive spirit.
Zone Nagseni: Rope Skipping Spectacle
In Zone Nagseni, a dedicated Rope Skipping competition for All Age Groups (AAG) was organized at Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, drawing 110 participants. The event highlighted the agility, coordination, and enthusiasm of the young athletes, who demonstrated exceptional skills.
Zone Paddar: Empowering Girls Through Sports
Zone Paddar focused on empowering girls through competitive sports. Students from High Schools and Higher Secondary Schools competed in Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball, and Tug of War. With 90 girls showcasing their athletic talents, the event was a celebration of women empowerment through sports.
Zone Drabshalla: Track and Racket Sports
Zone Drabshalla conducted Athletics and Badminton competitions for U/17 boys and girls, attracting 80 participants. The event spotlighted the region’s emerging talents in both field and racquet sports.
These competitions were made successful by the unwavering dedication of Zonal Physical Education Officers (ZPEOs), committed sports officials, and on-ground staff who ensured smooth execution and adherence to all guidelines.
DYSSO Jaffer Haider Sheikh applauded the collective efforts of all stakeholders and reaffirmed the department’s dedication to promoting a robust sports culture in the region. He emphasized that such initiatives are vital for the holistic development of youth and essential for channeling their energy into positive, productive paths.
