Labour Department Holds Registration Camp for SANJY-2025 Service Providers at Dessa, Doda
DODA, MAY 17, 2025:
In a significant step to support individuals involved in the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY-2025), the Labour Department Doda today organized an awareness-cum-registration camp at village Bhata, Dessa. The camp focused on the on-spot registration of Pithuwalas, Ponywalas, and Palkiwalas, who play a vital role in the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.
The event was held under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh, Labour Commissioner J&K, Charandeep Singh, and under the supervision of Assistant Labour Commissioner, Nehal Pandit.
The primary objective of the initiative was to simplify the registration process and make it more accessible and convenient for service providers, sparing them the need to travel long distances. By bringing registration to their doorstep, the department aims to increase outreach and ensure that no eligible participant is left behind.
The camp was organized in coordination with the Animal Husbandry Department, which further facilitated the smooth handling of processes and documentation, especially for those handling pack animals.
More Camps Planned Across the District
To expand coverage, the Labour Department has scheduled similar camps in Kastigarh and Doda in the upcoming week, ensuring comprehensive registration of SANJY service providers across the district.
In addition, a permanent registration desk has been established at the Office of the Assistant Labour Commissioner, Doda, to assist those who may have missed the on-ground camps.
The department continues to work closely with other administrative units to ensure timely, transparent, and complete registration of all stakeholders participating in SANJY-2025.
