DH Bandipora Performs First Laparoscopic Appendectomy, Enhances Local Surgical Care.
In a significant advancement for healthcare services in north Kashmir, District Hospital Bandipora has successfully conducted its first-ever laparoscopic appendectomy. Led by Dr. Bashir Ahmad Cheechak, Consultant Surgeon, the minimally invasive surgery was a team effort supported by Consultant Anaesthetist Dr. Iqbal, OT Technician Mr. Mehmood ul Rehman, and other theatre staff. Dr. Masrat Iqbal Wani, Medical Superintendent, praised the achievement as a major leap in the district’s medical capabilities, highlighting the benefits of such surgeries in reducing recovery time and complications.
