Bandipora, June 13: In a continued push towards environmental sustainability, the Municipal Council Bandipora carried out a polythene seizure drive in the Main Market area today. The enforcement team, comprising officials, sanitation workers, and volunteers, inspected shops and street vendors, seizing banned plastic bags from multiple establishments. The public was educated about the environmental harm caused by plastic and encouraged to adopt alternatives such as cloth or jute bags. Offenders were warned, and informative pamphlets were distributed to raise awareness. The council emphasized that such drives will be conducted regularly across the town and urged citizens to actively participate in maintaining a clean, green Bandipora.
