Amarnath Yatra 2025: Facial Recognition and 1,000 CCTV Cameras Ensure Enhanced Security.
Kulgam, June 14: As preparations intensify for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra 2025, authorities have introduced a blend of technology and infrastructure upgrades to ensure a safe and efficient pilgrimage for devotees. Over 3.5 lakh pilgrims have already registered, prompting the government to strengthen safety protocols.
A significant advancement is the deployment of Facial Recognition Systems along both the Pahalgam and Baltal routes, enabling real-time identity verification and bolstering crowd control mechanisms. In tandem, around 1,000 CCTV cameras have been installed across the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and the yatra route, enhancing surveillance, traffic regulation, and emergency readiness.
Efforts are also underway at the Baltal and Nunwan base camps, which are being equipped to manage the large influx of pilgrims. Directional signboards and emergency assistance markers have been set up to streamline navigation and provide timely help if needed.
These developments underscore the administration’s dedication to ensuring a safe, seamless, and spiritually fulfilling journey amidst the difficult terrain and evolving security landscape.
