SRINAGAR, MAY 16: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today interacted with multiple public delegations and individuals at the Chief Minister’s Outreach Office, Raabita, in Srinagar, as part of his public grievance redressal initiative.

The outreach programme drew participation from a diverse cross-section of society, including public representatives and individuals from various sectors, who brought forth pressing concerns and developmental issues for the Chief Minister’s attention.

Advisor to the Chief Minister, Nasir Aslam Wani, was also present during the public interaction session.

Among the delegations, one group from Saderkoot Payeen, Ajas in Bandipora, appealed to the Chief Minister for prompt disbursal of compensation to families impacted by development activities in the Wular Lake area. Another group raised concerns regarding the delay in releasing withheld recommendations for Class IV job positions, urging swift action.

A deputation of Junior Anesthesia Assistants from the Health & Medical Education Department pressed for the finalization of their long-pending selection process.

In an academic engagement, Professor Fayaz Ahmad Nika, Dean and Head, School of Business at Central University of Kashmir, presented insights from a study on NRLM and UEED schemes, highlighting their impact on women’s empowerment and employment generation in Ganderbal district.

The Jehlum Riverside House Rehabilitation Union from Habba Kadal Ganpatyar submitted a memorandum demanding land allotment at Rakhi Aarth for the relocation of families displaced by riverbank development.

A youth delegation from Chattabal under the Local Youth Coordination Committee sought the construction of a sports playground in their locality, stressing the importance of youth infrastructure.

The Sangarmal Traders Welfare Association sought resolution of various unresolved issues faced by traders at the Sangarmal Shopping Complex.

Representatives of private and cooperative kerosene oil dealers requested the restoration of kerosene supplies, particularly for farmers using power-driven machinery.

Mechanical engineering graduates and professionals highlighted the absence of a structured career progression framework in the sector.

The Tempo Travelers Association, Srinagar, appealed for a temporary waiver of EMI payments for transport operators facing financial difficulties.

Ms. Khair-ul-Nisa, Principal Advisor to the World Trade Center Association in New York and India, held detailed talks on investment potential in Jammu and Kashmir and proposed the creation of a World Trade Center in the region.

Academicians Prof. Hanief and Prof. Talat discussed the need for government support in achieving NAAC accreditation for Islamia College and enhancing academic standards.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah attentively listened to all representations and assured that their concerns would be examined with a compassionate and proactive approach.
