
DC Kishtwar Holds Public Outreach Camp at Palmar, Promises Swift Action on Civic Issues
KISHTWAR, May 14 (RNA):
In a bid to strengthen grassroots governance and address public concerns, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar, Rajesh Kumar Shavan, today held a public outreach camp at Block Palmar, engaging directly with the locals to evaluate development needs and service gaps.
A large gathering of residents, civil society members, and public representatives actively participated in the session, raising a wide range of critical civic and infrastructural issues.
Key Demands Highlighted by Locals
During the interaction, residents highlighted pressing needs including:

Fire and Emergency services in the block

Construction of a boundary wall at the local GHSS

Adequate teaching staff in educational institutions

Development of key roads: Bhandarkoot to Ikhala, Lower Palmar to Upper Palmar

Pending land compensation

Technical sanctioning of the Hatna-Palmar Road
The DC assured that the land compensation and road sanctioning matters would be escalated to higher authorities for expedited resolution.
Focus on Schemes and Youth Engagement
The DC highlighted several government schemes under implementation, such as:

PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana

Tejasvini and Mumkin Schemes
He encouraged youth to actively participate in these employment and empowerment-driven initiatives, emphasizing 100% saturation of centrally sponsored schemes in the region.
Ambulance, Handicrafts, and Beti Bachao Initiatives
Addressing a demand for ambulance service, the DC assured that the issue would be dealt with on a priority basis.
The Assistant Director Handicrafts announced the soon-to-be-established Elementary Training Course Centre under the Handicrafts Department in Block Palmar, aiming to boost skill development.
As part of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative, the DC also distributed school bags among orphaned and underprivileged girl students.
