• Bill Seeking Ban on Alcohol in J&K to be Introduced in Assembly
  • PDP MLA from Kupwara, Fayaz Ahmad Mir, has submitted a Private Member’s Bill seeking a complete ban on liquor in Jammu and Kashmir.
  • The bill, set to be introduced in the upcoming budget session of the J&K Assembly, proposes prohibition on the advertisement, sale, purchase, consumption, and manufacture of alcoholic beverages in the Union Territory.
  • Mir warned that the rising alcohol consumption poses a serious threat to society, stressing the need for strict legislation to curb the trend. The bill also proposes harsh penalties, including imprisonment and fines, for violations.

DIC Kulgam organizes awareness programme under RAMP

KULGAM, MAY 14: District Industries Centre (DIC) Kulgam today organised an awareness creation cum outreach programme under RAMP (Raising and Accelerating of MSME Performance) at Municipal Committee Devsar.

Officers from line departments viz. Lead District Manager Kulgam, besides representatives from KVIB, SICOP, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Handicrafts/ Handloom, CSCs and Cooperatives Department, Industrial Promotion Officers and other officials of DIC Kulgam were present in the programme.

More-than 100 beneficiaries from various departments, viz. Handicrafts/ Handloom, Cooperatives, Agriculture and industrial unit holders of DIC Kulgam attended the programme.

In the inaugural address, participants and other stakeholders were sensitized about the importance and vibrancy of Udyam Registration for taking their business and industrial establishments to new heights in collaboration with the Government and the flagship schemes run by it.

The process flow and benefits under Udyam Registration was explained to the participants through a detailed powerpoint presentation by the IPOs of DIC, Kulgam.

On the occasion, officers also interacted with the participants regarding entrepreneurship and the benefits of registration.
