RAJOURI, MAY 14 (RNA):
In a continued effort to address the situation on ground, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary visited nearly 15 villages in Nowshera constituency for the second consecutive day to assess the aftermath of recent cross-border shelling incidents.

Reaffirming the government’s unwavering support, the Deputy Chief Minister assured the people living along the Line of Control (LoC) that their safety, dignity, and welfare remain the government’s highest priority.

The two-day tour aimed at directly engaging with affected families, reviewing damages, and providing immediate on-ground assistance. The Dy CM conducted spot inspections of damaged homes and interacted closely with the victims of the shelling episodes.

He reassured the residents that necessary relief and rehabilitation efforts are being mobilized through the administration to minimize their suffering and ensure normalcy returns as soon as possible.

During multiple public outreach camps held across the constituency, the Deputy Chief Minister attentively heard the concerns and grievances of the locals. He reiterated that the government stands shoulder-to-shoulder with border communities and will act decisively to resolve their issues.

“The safety and protection of every individual living in the border region is paramount. We are implementing all possible measures to strengthen this priority,” he stated.

Several local delegations submitted memorandums, raising demands related to individual and community bunkers, compensation for damages, irregular power supply, drinking water issues, and the upgradation of link roads in interior villages.

The Dy CM responded by directing officials on-the-spot to take swift action for grievance redressal. He assured the people that their genuine concerns would be addressed systematically and within a fixed timeline.

Highlighting the broader vision of the Omar Abdullah-led administration, the Deputy Chief Minister emphasized that the government is committed to inclusive development, especially in border and remote regions of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Deputy Chief Minister also announced the construction of new community and individual bunkers at vulnerable sites, which he termed critical for the safety of civilians during cross-border hostilities.

“These bunkers are essential life-saving assets, and their expansion is part of our strategic response to ensure the safety of border dwellers,” he added.

This extensive visit and on-site review demonstrate the administration’s firm resolve to uphold peace, security, and the socio-economic well-being of border populations.

The Deputy Chief Minister was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Nowshera Pritam Lal Thapa, and other senior district officers, who took note of field observations and began implementing directives immediately.
