
HADP Review: J&K Aims for ₹1 Lakh Crore Agri-Economy with Strategic Implementation.
SRINAGAR, JUNE 12: The Secretary of the Agriculture Production Department and Mission Director of the Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP), Sandeep Kumar, chaired a high-level review meeting at the Directorate of Agriculture in Lal Mandi, Srinagar. Emphasizing the transformative potential of HADP, he stated that its effective implementation could pave the way for turning Jammu and Kashmir’s agriculture and allied sectors into a dynamic ₹1 lakh crore agri-economy. The meeting assessed progress on 13 major HADP projects with a focus on real-time monitoring, measurable outcomes, and improved inter-departmental coordination. Key officials from Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, Sericulture, CAD, and both SKUASTs participated, with several joining virtually. The Secretary highlighted the importance of tracking over 92,000 grassroots-level units established under HADP, strengthening last-mile delivery, and integrating data-driven systems to ensure transparency and accountability. He reiterated the government’s commitment to empowering farmers, enhancing productivity, and building sustainable livelihoods across the Union Territory.
