Imtiyaz Khan of Eidgah No Longer Associated with Congress, Says Srinagar DCC President
Imtiyaz Khan Misleading Public; No Longer Associated with Congress: Srinagar DCC President
Srinagar, April 10, 2025:
The District Congress Committee (DCC) Srinagar has strongly clarified that Imtiyaz Khan, a resident of Eidgah, is not affiliated with the Indian National Congress. According to DCC President Irfan Naqib, Khan was expelled from the party prior to the Assembly elections due to his anti-party activities, including contesting elections against the spirit of alliance.
Recently, it has come to light that Imtiyaz Khan has been contacting Congress workers across various districts, inviting them to a meeting in Srinagar while posing as a representative of the party. Irfan Naqib condemned this act, calling it “deceitful and misleading,” and reiterated that Khan is no longer a part of Congress.
“The individual is being used by certain external and anti-Congress elements to spread confusion within our ranks. This will not be tolerated,” Naqib stated during a press interaction in Srinagar.
He further mentioned that Congress cadres are already aware of Khan’s expulsion and the reasons behind it. The party leadership has also informed the Srinagar district administration that Imtiyaz Khan should not be considered a Congressman under any circumstances.
To safeguard the party’s integrity and prevent further confusion, DCC Srinagar has decided to file an FIR against Imtiyaz Khan for misleading the public and using the Congress name for personal motives.
