Indian Army Neutralises Pakistani Kamikaze Drones Over Amritsar

RNA KASHMIR | New Delhi | May 10:
In a major security development, the Indian Army’s Air Defence (AAD) units successfully intercepted and destroyed multiple kamikaze drones launched from Pakistan in the early hours of Friday near Amritsar, Punjab.
At approximately 05:00 AM, Pakistani forces deployed Byker YIHA III kamikaze drones across the International Border, reportedly targeting civilian-populated areas in an aggressive escalation. However, Indian air defence systems acted swiftly, detecting and neutralizing the aerial threats within moments of their breach into Indian airspace.
Using quick-reaction air-defence guns strategically positioned across the border zone, AAD personnel intercepted the drones mid-air, ensuring no debris fell in civilian zones. Fortunately, no casualties or property damage were reported.
Initial assessments reveal that the drones were carrying high-explosive payloads designed to cause mass destruction in residential sectors—an alarming escalation in Pakistan’s offensive tactics.
A senior defence official stated that this incident highlights the efficiency of India’s multi-layered air-defence grid, which integrates ground-based radars, electro-optical sensors, and automated command-and-control systems for a rapid and coordinated response.
The Indian Army remains on high alert to counter further threats, with enhanced surveillance and security measures in place across vulnerable regions.
