
J&K, Ladakh Pensioners United Front Convenes Key Meeting in Srinagar; Major Announcements Expected on June 14.

The Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh Pensioners United Front held a significant meeting today at its Head Office in Gogjibagh, Srinagar, under the chairmanship of its President, Abdul Qayoom Wani. The meeting witnessed participation from core committee members, retired government officials, and district representatives from across J&K and Ladakh.
During the session, the house reviewed multiple pressing issues confronting the pensioners, including:

Delays in pension disbursement

Lack of healthcare benefits for senior citizens

Revision of pension as per 7th Pay Commission recommendations

Extension of welfare schemes to all retired personnel, including ad hoc and contractual retirees

Demand for creation of a separate grievance redressal cell for pensioners

Representation of pensioners in policy formulation bodies
President Ab Qayoom Wani appreciated the dedication of the members and emphasized the need for a united front to address the legitimate concerns of retired employees. He assured that all resolutions passed in the meeting would be actively pursued with the concerned government departments and administrative authorities.
In a major development, the United Front will be holding a press conference on Saturday, June 14 at 11:00 AM at Palm Spring Hotel, Gogjibagh, Srinagar, where the President will publicly announce the finalized decisions and the future course of action. The leadership has urged all stakeholders, media representatives, and concerned pensioners to attend the press conference.
The meeting concluded with a collective pledge to continue advocating for dignity, justice, and fair treatment for all pensioners who have served the region in various capacities.
