
Jammu Sizzles at 43.6°C as Heatwave Sweeps Across J&K.
Jammu, June 13:
Jammu and Kashmir experienced intense heat today, with many regions witnessing a significant rise in maximum daytime temperatures. As per the official weather bulletin, Jammu city recorded the highest temperature at a scorching 43.6°C, signaling the onset of severe heatwave conditions in the plains.
In the Kashmir Valley, temperatures remained moderately high with Srinagar city at 32.4°C, Qazigund at 32.8°C, Kupwara at 31.9°C, and Kukernag at 31.8°C. Tourist destinations like Gulmarg and Pahalgam offered some relief, recording 23.0°C and 28.2°C respectively.
In the Jammu division, other key towns also reported high temperatures:

Meanwhile, Leh in Ladakh saw a relatively moderate temperature of 27.0°C, while Kargil’s reading was not availableat the time of reporting.
Authorities have advised people, especially those in Jammu and adjoining areas, to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during peak hours.
