J&K Government Orders Transfers and Postings in GAD

Srinagar, May 7, 2025 – The General Administration Department (GAD) of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has issued a new order regarding transfers and postings within the administration. Government Order No. 567-JK(GAD) of 2025, dated May 7, 2025, was released with immediate effect, outlining several key changes in personnel.

According to the order, Mr. Mufti-M-Farid-ud-din, JKAS, who was serving as Special Secretary to the Government, Industries and Commerce Department, has been transferred and posted as Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Kupwara, against an existing vacancy.

Furthermore, Mr. Ghulam Rasool Mir, JKAS, who was awaiting orders of adjustment in the GAD, has now been posted as Additional District Development Commissioner, Baramulla, also against an available vacancy.

Another significant posting involves Mr. Pankaj Magotra, JKAS, also awaiting orders of adjustment in the GAD, who has been appointed as Additional District Development Commissioner, Poonch, filling another vacant position.

The order also states that Mr. Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, JKAS, who held the position of Special Secretary in the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, J&K, has been transferred and posted as Additional District Development Commissioner, Ganderbal, against an available vacancy.

In a modification to a previous transfer order, Mr. Mohd. Ashraf Sheikh, JKAS, who was serving as Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Pulwama, and was under orders of transfer as ADC, Awantipora, will now continue in his current role as Additional Deputy Commissioner, Pulwama.

The issued order has been addressed to a wide array of high-ranking officials and departments, including the Additional Chief Secretaries, the Director General of Police, Principal Secretaries, Divisional Commissioners of Kashmir and Jammu, and all Deputy Commissioners, among others. This indicates the significance and wide-reaching impact of these administrative changes.

The order, signed by (Amit Vermani) JKAS, Additional Secretary to the Government, states that these transfers and postings are made “in the interest of administration.”

This reshuffle in key administrative positions is expected to bring new dynamics to the functioning of these districts. Further details regarding the responsibilities of these newly posted officers are awaited.
