In a significant move, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has ordered the closure of all schools, colleges, and universities across the Union Territory until further notice. The order, issued under Government Order No. 569-JK(GAD) of 2025, also places restrictions on civil movement, urging residents to avoid any non-essential travel.

The directive, dated 08-05-2025, was issued by Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, M. Raju (IAS), following instructions from the Lieutenant Governor in response to the prevailing security situation.

All relevant departments and administrative offices have been notified to ensure strict compliance. The order emphasizes public safety and aims to maintain law and order during this sensitive period.
