“Kashmir Cries for Peace”: Mehbooba Mufti Visits Displaced Families Near LoC, Urges End to War Rhetoric
Uri, May 11:
Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti issued a heartfelt call for peace following her visit to families affected by recent shelling near the Line of Control (LoC). Describing the pain and destruction she witnessed, Mufti criticized the ongoing war rhetoric and emphasized the deep human suffering caused by border conflicts.
“Our injured are in hospitals, homes reduced to rubble—this is why Kashmir pleads for peace, not bloodshed,” she said emotionally. She urged political leaders to choose compassion over aggression and prioritize the welfare of civilians.
“We need safe homes, not underground bunkers. This toxic war-mongering must come to an end,” Mufti added.
Her visit highlights the dire situation faced by civilians living along the LoC and renews the call for dialogue and empathy amid rising border tensions.
