Kashmir Teachers Await TA for Winter Mission Yuwa/Esharam Surveys; Allege Disregard of Orders
Srinagar, May 15: Teachers in Kashmir who were deputed for the Mission Yuwa and Esharam Surveys during the winter season are reportedly still awaiting their Travel Allowance (TA). According to a post by Bhat Javid, Provincial President of JKTF, clear directions were issued by Worthy Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) across the valley, but these orders have allegedly been brushed aside.
The post further states that the Teachers Forum is appealing to the “worthy Div com” (Divisional Commissioner) for prompt intervention in this matter, tagging the official handle @DivComKash. The tweet highlights the grievances of the teachers who carried out these surveys during the harsh winter months and are yet to receive their entitled allowances.
About Mission Yuwa and Esharam Surveys:
Mission Yuwa (Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan): This initiative by the Jammu and Kashmir government aims to identify potential young entrepreneurs and gather feedback from existing enterprises to foster entrepreneurship and self-employment. Baseline surveys were conducted to identify unemployed, under-employed, and aspiring entrepreneurs to provide tailored support like loans and skill development programs. A comprehensive baseline survey under this mission was conducted earlier in the year, covering the adult population of the UT.
e-Shram Portal: This is a national database created by the Ministry of Labour & Employment for unorganized workers, including migrant workers, construction workers, and gig workers. It aims to register these workers and extend the benefits of social security schemes to them. While the tweet mentions “Esharam Surveys,” it’s possible teachers were involved in data collection or awareness drives related to this portal.
The non-release of TA is likely to cause discontent among the teachers who performed these duties. The appeal to the Divisional Commissioner indicates the seriousness of the issue and the teachers’ expectation of a resolution.
