Kupwara Police Apprehends Drug Peddler, Recovers Contraband Substance

Kupwara, February 16, 2025: Continuing its efforts against the menace of drugs, Kupwara Police today apprehended a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance during a naka checking operation.

A police party from Police Station Kralpora, led by Insp Imtiyaz Malik, SHO PS Kralpora, intercepted a suspect during a naka checking at Reddi Chowkibal. Upon search, approximately 40 grams of charas-like substance was recovered from his possession.

The accused has been identified as Abdul Rasheed Mir S/O Sonaullah Mir R/I Zonareshi. In this regard, a case FIR No. 07/2025 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kralpora, and further investigation has been initiated.

Kupwara Police remains committed to eradicating the drug menace and urges the public to support police by reporting any information related to drug peddling or other unlawful activities.
