
LG Manoj Sinha Visits LOC Karnah, Reviews Security and Development; Meets Shelling Victims
Tangdhar (Kupwara), May 17, 2025:
The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, today undertook a significant visit to the Line of Control (LOC) in the Karnah subdivision of Kupwara district to assess the ground situation, review security measures, and inspect developmental progress in the sensitive border region.
During his visit, LG Sinha met with delegations of residents affected by cross-border shelling from several areas including Batpora, Turboni, Tangdhar, Hajinar, and Shamspora. He listened to their concerns with empathy and assured them of the Union Territory Government’s firm commitment to ensuring their safety, prompt relief, and accelerated development in border villages.
Later, the Lieutenant Governor chaired a high-level review meeting at the SDM Office, Tangdhar, attended by senior civil and security officials, where he reviewed the overall security environment, implementation of ongoing welfare schemes, and issues faced by the local population.
Reiterating the administration’s focus on peace, development, and disaster resilience, Shri Sinha directed all concerned departments to:

Strengthen disaster preparedness in vulnerable border areas

Enhance inter-departmental coordination for efficient public service delivery
