
Mission Director JJM Chairs Review Meeting of Jal Shakti Divisions Across J&K
Srinagar, May 13 (RNA): Mission Director of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) J&K, Shri Khurshid Ahmad Shah, today chaired a comprehensive review meeting with Jal Shakti (PHE) Division officers from across the Union Territory to assess the progress and functionality of water supply schemes under the mission.
Held via virtual mode, the meeting was attended by the Chief Engineer Jal Shakti (PHE) Kashmir, Superintending Engineers from various circles, Executive Engineers from both civil and mechanical divisions, and officials from the Mission Directorate.
Normal Functioning of Water Supply Schemes Reported
During the meeting, the Mission Director inquired about the status of Water Supply Schemes, particularly in areas impacted by the recent border tensions. Officials informed him that all water supply systems across J&K are operating normally, as per field reports.
Focus on Timely Scheme Completion
A detailed division-wise review of scheme implementation under JJM was conducted. Shah instructed the newly posted Superintending Engineers to assess field conditions and monitor the progress of ongoing works fortnightly, ensuring that timelines for project completion are met without delays.
“Strict adherence to deadlines is crucial. Engineers must remain proactive and ensure uninterrupted implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission schemes,” the MD emphasized.
Har Ghar Jal Certification and Water Quality Monitoring
The meeting also reviewed the Har Ghar Jal certification of villages reported in the previous year. The Mission Director discussed the current status of water quality testing and surveillance activities being carried out by designated laboratories across the Union Territory.
He underscored the importance of safe drinking water and urged all concerned officers to maintain rigorous water quality checks, ensuring clean and safe water reaches every household.
