JKPCC President Tariq Hameed Karra raised serious concern over what he described as continuous attempts by the Modi government to erode the Constitution and its core values. Addressing a party gathering in Suchetgarh on the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Karra called upon the people to stand united in defense of the constitutional framework that forms the bedrock of Indian democracy.
The event was organized by Congress candidate Bhushan Dogra and attended by a host of senior leaders, including AICC General Secretary & CLP Leader G.A. Karra criticized the BJP-led government for what he termed as deliberate efforts to weaken the essence of the Constitution, stating that both equality and justice are under direct threat. He stressed the urgency for citizens to mobilize and safeguard democratic institutions from being hollowed out.
“We are witnessing a systematic attack on the values enshrined by Dr. Ambedkar—values that uphold justice, liberty, and equality for all. This calls for immediate and collective resistance,” Karra emphasized.
G.A. Mir, in his address, highlighted the importance of public participation in defending democracy. He reminded the gathering that the Constitution is not just a document but a living promise to ensure the rights of every citizen. He said,
“The legacy of Babasaheb Ambedkar must be protected not just through speeches, but through sustained action and vigilance.”
