Jammu, May 7:
Former Deputy Chief Minister and Pradesh Congress Committee Working President, Tara Chand, extended strong support to the Indian Armed Forces for their targeted strikes on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), describing the operation as a well-coordinated and precise response following the Pahalgam terror attack.

Tara Chand hailed the action as a timely and necessary countermeasure in national interest. Recalling the horrific April 22 attack in Besaran (Pahalgam), where 26 tourists were brutally killed, he called it a “cowardly and heart-wrenching act” that demanded the strongest condemnation.

“The entire nation stands united behind our forces. Our leadership — including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi — fully supports this bold action by the armed forces,” Tara Chand said, emphasizing that national unity and solidarity are critical in these testing times.

He also appealed to residents in border villages to support the forces wholeheartedly, urging them to act as responsible citizens during such war-like situations. “Every civilian must rise to the occasion like a soldier,” he added.

Condemning the Pakistani Rangers’ unprovoked shelling in the Poonch Sector, Tara Chand highlighted the contrast between India’s targeted strikes and Pakistan’s attacks on civilian areas, which have reportedly harmed women and children. “Such barbaric acts must not go unanswered,” he said, demanding a firm and appropriate response from the Central Government.
