RNA KASHMIR | Rajouri | May 10:
In a deeply emotional tribute, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) Working President Tarachand has expressed profound grief over the tragic death of Dr. Raj Kumar Thappa, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Rajouri, who lost his life in Pakistan’s cross-border shelling.

Calling Dr. Thappa a courageous officer and a cherished friend, Tarachand shared that he had worked closely with the late officer in the past and held him in high regard for his dedication, bravery, and service to the people.

“I had the honour of having Dr. Thappa as part of my staff a few years ago. He was more than a colleague — he was a true friend and a bold officer committed to duty,” said Tarachand.

Dr. Thappa lost his life after Pakistani shelling targeted his official quarters in Rajouri, sending shockwaves across the civil administration and local population. His death has been described as a major loss to the administrative services of Jammu and Kashmir.

Tarachand extended his prayers for the departed soul and offered solidarity with the bereaved family.
“May God grant his soul eternal peace and give strength to his loved ones to bear this irreparable loss,” he said.

The incident has once again brought to light the risks faced by civil and security officials posted in volatile border regions.
