Poonch Administration spurs up designated Public shelter camps with adequate amenities

Amid the ongoing cross-border tensions, the District Administration of Poonch has stepped up preparations by activating designated public shelter camps equipped with essential facilities for the safety and welfare of residents in vulnerable areas.

A high-level inspection team, including Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR), Chief Planning Officer (CPO), and Tehsildar Haveli, visited multiple proposed sites to assess preparedness and operational readiness.

The following institutions have been identified as shelter camps:

  • Caramel School, Chandak

  • Dingla University Campus

  • Ishat ul Uloom, Chandak

  • Higher Secondary School (HSS), Chandak

  • Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Lassana

  • Government High School (GHS), Sanai

  • Government Middle School (GMS), Sanai

  • GHSS Seri Khawaja

  • Polytechnic College, Sathra

Officials confirmed that these shelters have been equipped with accommodation, food, water supply, and medical facilities. The administration urged residents from high-risk zones to avail the relocation option and move to these secure shelters to ensure their safety.

The district authorities reaffirmed their commitment to public safety and stated that teams are on standby to assist citizens with transportation and support services during this emergency period.
