Minister for Health, Social Welfare, and Education, Sakeena Itoo, chaired a crucial meeting at the Civil Secretariat to address challenges in disbursing payments under key social welfare schemes like Ladli Beti, Widow Pension, and ISSS. Stressing the importance of dignity and efficiency, she urged timely payments to all eligible low-income beneficiaries. The Minister instructed officers to remove procedural bottlenecks such as mandatory PAN or Form 16 submissions for economically weaker sections. She also asked the Social Welfare Department to revisit the MoU with JK Bank to simplify Ladli Beti scheme operations. Emphasizing transparency and full scheme saturation, she directed departments to avoid delays and ensure beneficiaries feel the true impact of these welfare programs.
