
SSP Kupwara Visits Shelling-Affected Border Areas in Karnah, Assures Safety and Support
Kupwara, May 8:
In a proactive move to ensure the safety and morale of border residents, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kupwara, Shri Ghulam Jeelani Wani, today visited the Tangdhar area in Karnah, recently affected by cross-border shelling.
Accompanied by Additional SP and other senior officers, the SSP conducted an on-ground assessment of the affected areas, interacted with residents, and took detailed stock of the situation. He reviewed the security arrangements in these vulnerable zones and issued directives to local officers to remain on high alert and fully prepared for any emergent developments.
Speaking to the locals, SSP Ghulam Jeelani Wani assured the people that the Jammu & Kashmir Police stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the residents of border areas. “Your safety is our top priority, and we are fully committed to maintaining peace, order, and rapid response in any crisis,” he stated.
This visit reflects the department’s commitment to addressing the challenges faced by border communities and reaffirming the administration’s solidarity during tense times.
