Srinagar, May 10, 2025:
President of the Apni Party, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, has welcomed the India-Pakistan ceasefire announcement, calling it a reflection of the strong resolve and decisive leadership of the Government of India in combating terrorism.

Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Bukhari expressed his appreciation for the nation’s top leadership, including the Prime Minister, Home Minister, Defence Minister, and National Security Advisor, for their courageous decisions following the recent Pahalgam terror attack.

“I welcome the ceasefire announcement and congratulate the entire nation, the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Hon’ble Home Minister, Hon’ble Defence Minister, National Security Advisor (NSA) and other dignitaries of the country for the resolve they have shown during these challenging times. The tough decisions and decisive actions taken against terrorism and terrorist activities on Indian soil are commendable,” Bukhari posted.

Referring to the Pahalgam massacre that occurred on April 22 at Baisaran meadow, where 26 tourists and a local pony ride operator lost their lives and 16 others were injured, Bukhari said the act was “heinous and barbaric” and has deeply scarred the collective conscience of the nation.

“A strong message has been successfully delivered to the perpetrators and handlers of the heinous massacre. This horrific act of violence has shaken us to the core. May those who lost their lives in this barbaric tragedy rest in eternal peace,” he added.

The statement comes as political leaders and civil society groups continue to express support for the ceasefire and unity in the face of terrorism.
