
Tara Chand Visits Border Areas, Urges Relief for Migrant Families in Suchetgarh and Pargwal
JAMMU/AKHNOOR, May 14 (RNA):
Working President of Pradesh Congress Committee and former Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand visited the Suchetgarh and Pargwal sectors along with migrant camps in border areas, assessing ground realities in the aftermath of India-Pakistan ceasefire violations.
He was accompanied by senior Congress leaders including Ex-Minister Bhushan Dogra, PCC General Secretary Narinder Sharma, PCC Spokesperson Sahil Sharma, Secretary Vijay Shastri, Ricky Dalotra, Vijay Chib, Block Presidents Ramesh Kumar and Daljeet Singh, Harnam Singh Manhas, Bodh Raj Bhagat, Balwadar Singh, Ex-Sarpanch Rattan Lal, Jagdish Singh, and others.
Demands for Immediate Relief and Rehabilitation
Tara Chand called upon the Central and UT Governments to immediately dispatch survey teams to assess losses to life, property, and livestock in the affected border areas. He also demanded allotment of 10 marla plots along with ₹5 lakh financial assistance for each affected family to build safe shelters in secure locations, enabling them to protect their families during future border tensions.
Appeal to Border Residents & Acknowledgement of Support
He appealed to the residents of border villages not to return to their homes until officially permitted by the government, citing safety concerns.
Tara Chand expressed heartfelt gratitude towards spiritual organizations that extended humanitarian support by setting up relief camps, providing three meals daily and milk for infants. He especially thanked the Sahib Bandgi Organization and its spiritual head for offering shelter and meals to displaced families from the Pargwal area.
Tribute to Security Forces and Martyrs
Commending the valour of the Indian Armed Forces, Tara Chand said the nation salutes their brave retaliation to cross-border fire. He also paid rich tributes to army personnel, civil officers, and innocent civilians who sacrificed their lives in this tense situation, adding that their courage will be remembered for generations.
