Tariq Hameed Karra Pays Tribute to Martyred Officer Dr. Thapa, Seeks Compensation for Shelling Victims

Srinagar, May 11: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Shri Tariq Hameed Karra on Saturday paid heartfelt tributes to Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa, a senior JKAS officer and the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Rajouri, who laid down his life in the line of duty.

In a condolence message, Shri Karra described Dr. Thapa as a committed and respected public servant known for his dedication, service to the people, and sincere public dealings. “He shall be remembered for his exemplary commitment and sacrifice for the nation. His loss is deeply felt by the administration and society at large,” Karra said while extending condolences to Dr. Thapa’s family and colleagues. He also urged the government to recognize Dr. Thapa’s distinguished services and sacrifice.

The JKPCC Chief also paid rich tributes to BSF Sub-Inspector Mohd Imtiyaz and Subedar Major Pawan Kumar of Himachal Pradesh, who were martyred while defending the nation in the Jammu region amid cross-border hostilities. On behalf of the party’s entire rank and file, he expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls.

Recalling the loss of innocent lives and injuries caused by recent Pakistani shelling, Karra extended deep sympathies to the families affected across border areas. He called for immediate relief and compensation for the victims who suffered injuries, loss of life, or damage to property.

“The Centre and UT administration must come forward to provide all possible financial assistance to those who have been severely impacted by the recent shelling. The affected families need urgent support to rebuild their lives,” he emphasized.
