Tariq Hameed Karra Urges MEA to Evacuate J&K Students from Iran Amid Tensions.
On June 15, 2025, JKPCC President Tariq Hameed Karra made a strong appeal to External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, urging immediate action to evacuate students from Jammu and Kashmir who are currently studying in Iran. In light of escalating tensions and an increasingly volatile situation in the region, Karra emphasized the need to prioritize their safety and ensure their swift and secure return home.
Karra expressed deep concern for the anxiety and distress faced by the families of these students. He stated that the Ministry of External Affairs must provide full support and take proactive steps to coordinate safe evacuations without delay. “The well-being of our young citizens abroad must be safeguarded, and I trust the MEA will act urgently in this matter,” Karra added.
