Two Dead, Several Injured as Passenger Bus Falls Into Gorge in Poonch’s Mendhar

Jammu, May 6 – Tragedy struck in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Tuesday morning when a passenger bus veered off the road and plunged into a gorge in Ghani area of Mendhar, claiming two lives and leaving several others injured.

According to local officials, the bus was on its way to Mehnar when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle near Khod Dhara. The bus skidded off the road and tumbled into a deep gorge, resulting in the immediate death of two passengers.

Soon after the accident, rescue teams comprising police officials, Army personnel, and local volunteers rushed to the scene. The injured were quickly shifted to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

Police authorities have taken cognizance of the matter, and further investigation is underway to determine the cause of the mishap.
