
WAVES 2025 Emerges as Catalyst for India’s Creative Economy; Maharashtra Secures MoUs Worth Rs 8000 Cr

WAVES 2025, the premier global media and entertainment summit, has concluded on a high note, positioning itself as a transformative platform empowering creators and accelerating India’s creative economy. The event saw unprecedented participation and outcomes across sectors.
The WAVES Bazaar recorded transactions worth over Rs. 1328 crores through more than 3000 B2B meetings held over three days. The Government of Maharashtra led the charge by signing MoUs worth Rs. 8000 crores in the Media & Entertainment sector.
In a landmark move, Member Nations adopted the WAVES Declaration during the Global Media Dialogue, signifying international collaboration and shared vision for creative growth.
The WAVEX Startup Accelerator has opened up fresh opportunities, with investment worth Rs 50 crores currently in the pipeline for promising startups. Additionally, the announcement of the Indian Institute of Creative Technology (IICT) is set to play a pivotal role in skill development and capacity building in the sector.
Further energizing the landscape, the Create in India Challenge was launched to promote local innovation and talent, aligning with the country’s goal to become a global hub for creative entrepreneurship.
A series of Knowledge Reports were also released, highlighting India’s substantial progress in the creative industries and its vast potential for future growth.
